Our Services

Our principal service for worship for both adults and children of all ages is on Sunday at 10.30 am. This will normally last from between 45 and 75 minutes and contains worship including songs and hymns led sensitively by a talented and enthusiastic music group, normally comprising at least a keyboard, guitars and drums. The service will also include prayers, readings from the Bible and a sermon exploring God’s word and applying it to the modern world in a contemporary way, frequently with use of current technology in terms of projected pictures and video clips.

Children are welcome at all our services and we are not bothered by their inevitable noise. The Bible reports that Jesus Himself welcomed little children – and so do we! We make it as easy as possible for parents and after some worship time together as a whole church family, there is a Sunday School which provides relevant activities and teaching for children of all ages – from babies in a crèche to teenagers in “the cabin” – a newly constructed building at the rear of the church, which is dedicated to work amongst the young people.

We celebrate communion together as an integral part of the worship, normally on the third Sunday of each month. We also have a communion on the first Wednesday of each month (see “Weekday Activities”) designed especially for those who cannot share in this sacrament on a Sunday.

Refreshments are served after the service each week in the main hall, to facilitate fellowship and, in particular, the opportunity to get to welcome and to know newcomers to the church. Four times a year, we also share a simple fellowship meal together after the service.

On the first Sunday of each month the service comprises an all-age service, when children stay in church – either with their parents or on tables which provide separate but related activities – and the service is designed to be relevant to all.
